Call forwarding to mobile phones configuration (using the indoor monitor)
With the help of forwarding you can redirect calls from one device to another. Here you can find a detailed description of call forwarding configuration for various device types:
Forwarding from the indoor video entry phone (monitor) to mobile device(s) consists of the following stages:
the call from the entrance panel is directed to the monitor via the internal protocol;
when the monitor receives this call, it checks if it has forwarding queue(s) with a specific SIP and informs the panel about the presence;
together with the call to the monitor, the panel makes a call to the SIP numbers specified in the monitor forwarding queue(s).
Preparation before forwarding configuration
1. Download the BAS-IP Intercom app onto your mobile device(s). This app is necessary for making/taking SIP calls via your mobile device(s).
2. You must register with the SIP server. This service provides SIP numbers required for making calls between various devices.
BAS-IP SIP service has 3 global regions (Asia, the USA, and Europe) and includes servers for corresponding countries. For correct SIP calls operation, you must register an account at your country server and provide these data for devices and BAS-IP Intercom settings. To register with the service:
1. Open the SIP server web page. URL depends on your country and check here. For example, United Kingdom residents must register at gb.sip.bas-ip.com. The following interface will be displayed in the browser:
2. To open the registration form, click Sign up.
3. Enter your current email, create a password and confirm it by re-entering.
4. Click Create.
5. Go to your email to confirm a new account.
6. Follow the link from the letter (the system will send it automatically).
Your account will be considered inactive without confirmation.
7. After confirming the account, you can enter it.
8. In a new tab click Sign in and enter your email and password for authorization.
3. Add your device(s) to receive at least 5 virtual numbers.
3. Open the BAS-IP Intercom app (downloaded in Step 1).
4. Press Scan QR in the Assistant that opened.
5. Scan the QR code from Add device tab.
6. Scan the 2nd QR code from the device backside or its box.
If a QR code from the device backside or its box can not be scanned or is absent, contact the BAS-IP support team. Send an email to support@bas-ip.com with a photo of the device serial number and mention your account email.
7. After adding the device, you will have the opportunity to create and set up 5 virtual numbers for SIP calls.
4. Create SIP numbers for your devices. Each device must have a unique number. So, if you have 1 panel, 1 monitor, 1 mobile device, it is enough to create 3 SIP numbers. If you have more mobile devices create additional numbers.
4. The system will automatically generate a SIP number. You must enter its display name and password.
5. Choose the type of DTMF protocol (RFC 2833 or SIP INFO). All BAS-IP devices work with RFC 2833 protocol.
6. Save information by clicking Create.
5. Enable and configure SIP for the entrance panel.
To configure the entrance panel remotely (through the web interface), you must connect to it via the Internet browser on your PC. The panel and PC from which you plan to access the device must be connected to the same network segment.
SIP number (up to 20 characters) created in Step 4;
password for SIP number (up to 20 characters);
transport type: UDP/TCP/TLS.
UDP is good for speed and efficiency.
TCP is great for reliable IP-packet delivery.
TLS is best for encryption, authentication, data integrity, and secure SIP trunking.
You can enable the auto re-registration to renew the lost connection with the SIP server and enter the re-registration interval (from 5-600 seconds). The feature is recommended to use in networks with an unstable Internet connection. If necessary, you can re-register the device manually by clicking the appropriate button.
5. Save data.
6. Enable and configure SIP for the monitor.
You can configure SIP via the web interface. To configure the monitor remotely (through the web interface), you must connect to it via the Internet browser. The device must be connected to the same network as the PC from which you are going to configure it:
login or the SIP number created in Step 4 (must be different from entered in the panel settings);
password for the number.
5. Save data.
7. Add SIP number (created in Step 4) to the BAS-IP Intercom app (downloaded in Step 1). Compete this step for each mobile device that will be in forwarding queue.
You can register a SIP number with the BAS-IP Intercom app in 2 ways: manuallyor with the help of remote configuration.
In the SIP server, open the Virtual numbers tab with information about your numbers.
Open the BAS-IP Intercom app.
In the Assistant menu, press Use SIP Account.
Enter information about the SIP number, its password, and transport (this info you can find in the Virtual numbers tab of the SIP server). These numbers must be different from those entered in the entrance panel and monitor settings. Pay attention to the Country field. You must choose the country corresponding to the server where you registered and to the server address of your SIP number. For example, you use sip:57312@us.sip.bas-ip.com, so you must choose the USA in the app.
For correct functioning, the SIP number indicated in the device settings and the BAS-IP Intercom app must be linked to the same SIP server. Also, this server must correspond to a country indicated in the app.
Pay attention that after entering the password incorrectly 3 times, your IP address will appear in the ban list. Information on how to unblock IP addresses you can find here.
After data input, press Login.
When all steps are completed, the Registered status will be displayed at the top of the app. Also, the number name and SIP server will be shown in the account information.
If you want to use the remote configuration feature:
Open the Assistant menu in the BAS-IP Intercom app.
Choose the number you want to add to the app (must be different from the one entered in the entrance panel and monitor settings) and click App settings.
With the help of BAS-IP Intercom, scan the QR code on the app settings page.
After pressing Fetch and Apply in the Intercom app, all information about the SIP number will be automatically added to the app. As a result, the number will be registered and ready to use.
When all steps are completed, the Registered status will be displayed at the top of the app. Also, the number and SIP server will be shown in the account information.
Simultaneous forwarding configuration
When you prepare the entrance panel, monitor and mobile device(s), you can set forwarding queue(s).
The forwarding setting can only be done on the main monitor with 0 device number.
1. Enter the monitor IP address in the address line of the browser. You can check the IP address with software for device search and upgrade or at monitor settings (if data was previously indicated).
