Why access restriction is required?

Access restrictions define who can open which door, when, and how — for example, using a card, mobile app, or license plate.

Without access rules, users won’t be able to interact with any devices — even if they are assigned to a group and have an identifier.

What do access restrictions control?

They link:

  • a user or group — who gets access;

  • a device — what they are allowed to open;

  • optional schedule — when access is allowed;

  • optional identifier type — how access is granted, for example by card, UKEY, code, license plate, or app; all types are allowed by default.

Where are they created?

In the Access management → Access restrictions section of the admin interface.

Each access restriction rule can include one or more of the following:

  • Access points — devices controlled by the rule, such as panels or door controllers;

  • Schedules — time frames when access is allowed;

  • Users — people or groups who are granted access;

  • Identifiers — specific cards, codes, QR, UKEYs, or license plates;

  • Objects — building sections or logical zones where the rule applies.

You can combine these elements as needed. For example, a rule can apply to a user with all their identifiers, or target only a specific QR code.

These combinations help solve real-life scenarios. For example:

  • Assign users to a rule with schedules and access points to limit cleaning staff access to working hours only;

  • Apply a rule to a license plate without linking a user — useful for delivery vehicles;

  • Add both users and identifiers to restrict access to a specific QR code for a specific person;

  • Use objects to propagate the same rule across multiple entrances in one building.

🔹 Simplest way to make it work:

If you don’t need complex schedules or conditions, just:

  1. Select a device. E.g., panel or door controller.

  2. Select a group — this is the simplest and most reliable way to grant access.

If you skip this step or assign access only to individual users → users not covered by the rule won’t see the devices in the app, and the system won’t send identifiers to those devices.

  1. Enable access without time limits — just leave the Schedules tab empty. Access will be granted 24/7 by default.

  2. Save — and the device will accept the identifier.
