To make a device chain with each other for communication and interaction via internal protocol we use logical addresses. They are required for all BAS-IP devices. This address corresponds to the location of the device within the territory and consists of Building No. (from 0001 to 9999), Unit No. (from 00 to 99), Floor No. (from 00 to 98), and Apartment No. (from 01 to 99). For example, a device in the 7th apartment, on the 2nd floor of the 1st unit in building No. 1 has a 0001-01-02-07 logical address.
In addition, the logical address also has the device numbers parameter, which is very important if there is more than one device of each type with the same logical address in the system, e.g., there are 2 entrance panels for 1 unit.
For panels device numbers can be:
1-9000 (for the wall operation mode when the panel is installed on the perimeter of the object);
1-98 (for the unit operation mode if the panel is installed near the unit entrance);
1-9 (for individual panels)
For the indoor entry phones (monitors) it's from 0 to 8. You must have the monitor with the number 0 and it is considered as the main monitor. If you don't have the 0 number, the connection will be refused.
For a panel and a monitor, you are required to set corresponding for them values. In the panel settings, you must enter:
Device No. (for the wall operation mode);
Building No., Unit No., and Device No. (for the unit operation mode);
Building No., Unit No., Floor No., Apartment No., and Device No. (for individual panels or personal mode).
In the Intercom settings or monitor interface such values as building No., unit No., floor No., apartment No., and device number must be entered. You must have the monitor with the number 0 and it is considered as the main monitor. So if there is only one monitor in the flat, it must have 0 device number. Also, if you have more than 1 monitor, you must set a sync code for synchronization between monitors.
To connect devices, they must have the same values for logical addresses. For example, the entrance panel is installed at the 1st unit of building No. 1, works in wall mode, and has logical address 0001. To call the monitor in apartment No 1, located on the 1st floor of the 1st unit, the monitor logical address (number) 0001-01-00-01 will be called. In this logical address, 0001 is a Building No., 01 stands for Unit No., 00 is a Floor No., and 01 is a number of apartment. Thus, the same logical address must be set in the monitor settings: building - 1, unit - 1, floor - 0, apartment - 1.
