Integration with KONE
Configure KONE elevator integration in BAS-IP Link to call elevators from panels, manage floor access for residents and visitors, support permanent and guest identifiers, and receive push notifications about elevator status changes in the Link mobile app.
After a user unlocks the door with an identifier, the panel displays the list of available floors. The user selects a floor and the system shows the elevator that is ready for use.
Configuration of KONE elevator features on call panels is available only for AA-14XX panels starting from firmware 3.26.4.
How to configure integration with KONE elevators:
❶ KONE API portal application
Register in the Kone API portal to get access to the elevator system and the data required for configuration.
In the KONE portal, click Create application.
Select the Production option.
Enter the App name and description (optional).
Click Create Application.
A unique Client ID and Client secret will be generated. Save these values, as the client secret is shown only once.
Contact the KONE support team so they add available elevators to your application.
❷ BAS-IP Link integration
After creating the application in the KONE API portal, configure the integration in BAS-IP Link:
Open Settings → Integrations tab.
Click Add integration.
Select KONE Elevators in the Integration type field.
Enter the integration name.
Open the Connection settings tab and enable KONE Push notifications if notifications should be sent to the Link mobile app.
Enter the connection parameters obtained from the KONE API portal.
Click Connect.
If the connection is successful, BAS-IP Link will retrieve information about:
available buildings;
elevators;
project structure.
Open the Groups tab and in Group for integration, select the building or group where the elevators are installed.
Configure correspondence between KONE buildings and Link groups.
This mapping allows Link to determine which building in the KONE system corresponds to a building in the Link project.Open the Elevators tab and verify that the table displays elevators retrieved from the KONE project.
Click 💾 Save in the lower-right corner.
If the elevator list is empty, verify that:
the KONE API credentials are correct;
the application in the KONE API portal has access to the elevator system;
elevators were added to the application by the KONE support team.
Integration architecture
The KONE integration works through BAS-IP Link, which synchronizes buildings, elevators, users, and access rules between the KONE system and BAS-IP devices.
❸ Elevator mapping in BAS-IP Link
After connecting the integration, configure how buildings, units, floors, and elevators are linked in BAS-IP Link.
Open the Groups tab and verify that Link buildings are mapped to the corresponding KONE buildings.
Open the group structure and select the required building inside the integration group.
Ensure that the system has automatically created an elevator object under the building after synchronization.Open the building and go to the Elevators tab. Configure the correspondence between units and KONE elevators. This mapping is used to associate units with KONE elevators.
Open the KONE elevator object and configure the correspondence between Link floors and KONE areas. For each floor, select one or more KONE areas. This mapping determines which floors are available to users.
Open the device settings and go to the KONE Elevators tab.
Verify that the following parameters are set:Building ID;
Source ID;
Terminal number;
Walking time;
Call action ID;
Exit to welcome screen.
Open Device task management and verify that tasks for the following entities appear in the list:
KONE settings;
KONE access rules;
users;
identifiers;
apartments.
The list may include completed or in-progress tasks.
Elevator access is determined by the full mapping chain:
building → unit → floor → KONE area → elevator
If any element in this chain is not configured, elevator access will not work correctly.
After the mapping is configured, any changes to buildings, units, floors, users, identifiers, or access rules automatically trigger an update of KONE data on the device.
❹ Panel elevator configuration
Configure the entrance panel so it can communicate with the KONE elevator system.
Log in to the entrance panel web interface.
By default:
Username:
adminPassword:
123456
Open Access management → KONE settings tab.
Enable the integration.
Enter the required data:
Server URL: dev.kone.com;
Kone client ID (created in step 1);
Kone client secret (created in step 1);
Building ID (can be found in the Resources tab of the Kone API portal) must begin with building:id, e.g. building:elevator:1
Source ID: floor No. where the panel is (detailed values are in KONE documentation);
Terminal number (detailed values are in KONE documentation);
Walking time to get from the panel to the elevators, in seconds;
Lift call action ID — required by the KONE API to trigger the elevator call. The panel will not initiate a lift call without this value;
Exit to the main screen (sec.) — sets how long the elevator number is displayed on screen before returning to the home screen.
Click Submit to save the settings.
The Building ID must match the building identifier from the KONE API portal.
❺ Access rules
Create elevator access rules that determine which floors are available to users.
Scroll to the Access rules section and click New restriction.
Enter the restriction name and select areas (floors) that will be available for user access.
Click Submit.
Open the Identifiers tab if you need to create a new identifier.
Go to the Users tab.
Create a new user or edit an existing one.
If necessary, add the identifier in the Identifier tab.
Open the KONE rules tab.
Select the restriction created earlier.
Click Confirm.
❻ Guest passes
Guest passes issued through BAS-IP Link can also be used for elevator access.
Guest identifiers can trigger elevator access on the panel.
The floors available to the guest are determined by the assigned access rule.
❼ Elevator status notifications
When an elevator becomes temporarily unavailable due to planned maintenance or returns to normal operation, a push notification is sent to residents in the BAS-IP Link mobile app.
Available in Android v2.3.2+ and iOS v2.0.8+.
Notifications are triggered when:
an elevator becomes temporarily unavailable;
the elevator returns to normal operation.
❽ Automatic elevator call
If a user has access to only one elevator zone, the panel automatically calls the elevator after the door unlocks — without requiring the user to select a floor.
If multiple elevator zones are available, the panel displays the list of accessible floors. The user selects the required floor, after which the system displays the assigned elevator.
This behavior works automatically when KONE integration is enabled and does not require additional configuration.
Available from firmware v3.25.0+.
After completing the configuration:
BAS-IP panels automatically call elevators;
users can access permitted floors according to access rules;
guest passes can be used for elevator access;
residents receive elevator status notifications in the BAS-IP Link mobile app.
