Integration with Hikvision
Hikvision cameras can be used as license plate recognition devices in conjunction with BAS-IP Link.
The camera communicates directly with the Link server, so no BAS-IP entrance panel or other devices are required. Link subscribes to recognition events from the camera and uses its identifiers database to decide whether to grant or deny access.
Once the integration is configured, the administrator or end user can create an identifier of the license plate number type and assign it to a specific Hikvision camera. When that camera detects a matching plate, Link sends a command to trigger the relay output — for example, to open a lock or barrier. All successful access events are logged in the Link system.
To use this integration, you need the following:
A Link server with a license that includes integration with Hikvision ANPR;
For BAS-IP Link Cloud, this integration requires a Plus license;
A Hikvision camera that supports ANPR and integration via ISAPI;
(Since product lines may change, we recommend checking compatible models with the manufacturer.)
At the time of developing the integration, the manufacturer's documentation stated that the API is supported by the following cameras (not all of them may support ANPR; please contact the manufacturer for clarification):
iDS-2CD7026G0(-AP), iDS-2CD7026G0/EP-IHSY, iDS-2CD7026G0/P-AP, iDS-2CD7046G0(-AP)(/F11), iDS-2CD7046G0/E-IHSY(/F11)(R), iDS-2CD7046G0/EP-IHSY, iDS-2CD7046G0/H-AP, iDS-2CD7046G0/P-AP, iDS-2CD7046G0/S-AP, iDS-2CD7086G0(-AP), iDS-2CD7086G0/H-AP, iDS-2CD70C5G0(-AP), iDS-2CD70C5G0/E-IHSY(R), iDS-2CD70C5G0/H-AP, iDS-2CD7126G0-IZ(H)S(Y), iDS-2CD7146G0-IZ(H)S(Y), iDS-2CD7146G0/C-IZS, iDS-2CD7146G0/H-IZ(H)S(Y), iDS-2CD7186G0-IZ(H)S(Y), iDS-2CD7186G0-IZS, iDS-2CD7186G0/H-IZ(H)S(Y), iDS-2CD71C5G0-IZS, iDS-2CD71C5G0/H-IZ(H)S(Y), iDS-2CD7347G0-XS, iDS-2CD7387G0-XS, iDS-2CD7526G0-IZHS(Y), iDS-2CD7546G0-IZHS(Y), iDS-2CD7547G0-XZHS(Y), iDS-2CD7547G0/P-XZHS(Y), iDS-2CD7586G0-IZHS(Y), iDS-2CD7587G0-XZHS(Y), iDS-2CD75C5G0-IZHS(Y)(R), iDS-2CD7A26G0-IZHS(Y), iDS-2CD7A26G0/P-IZHS(Y), iDS-2CD7A45G0-IZ(H)S(Y), iDS-2CD7A45G0/P-IZHS(Y), iDS-2CD7A46G0-IZHS(Y),iDS-2CD7A46G0/H-IZHS(Y), iDS-2CD7A46G0/P-IZHS(Y), iDS-2CD7A46G0/S-IZHS(Y), iDS-2CD7A47G0-XZHS(Y), iDS-2CD7A47G0/P-XZHS(Y), iDS-2CD7A86G0-IZHS(Y), iDS-2CD7A86G0/H-IZHS(Y), iDS-2CD7A87G0-XZHS(Y), iDS-2CD7AC5G0-IZHS(Y)(R), iDS-2CD7AC5G0/H-IZHS(Y), iDS-2CD7D47G0-XS, iDS-2CD7D87G0-XS, iDS-2CD7T47G0-XHS(Y), iDS-2CD7T87G0-XHS(Y), iDS-2CD8A46G0-XZ(H)S(Y), iDS-2CD8A47G0/SC-ZY, iDS-2CD8A48G0-XZ(H)S(Y), iDS-2CD8A86G0-XZ(H)S(Y)
As the integration is implemented on the BAS-IP side, you can contact Technical Support if you need help with setup or have suggestions.
How to set up Hikvision ANPR integration:
In the Licenses tab, ensure that you have an integration with the Hikvision camera in your license and this option is enabled for the server.
Go to the Devices tab of the Device management section.
Click the plus icon in the left low corner.
Enter the device name.
Select the IP camera type.
Select the Hikvision camera with the ANPR model.
Enter any number for the Serial number field.
Select a group/subgroup where the device is functioning.
Add a description, if necessary.
Enter network settings for server and camera interaction:
enter the camera IP address and port
enter login and password to the camera
Be aware that the camera must be within the same network as the server or available for interaction via the Internet.
In the Additional Settings, select the ID of the alarm output relay on the camera that must be activated when the license plate is recognized.
Also, set a timeout for this relay activity.
Click the Save button in the left low corner when all required data will be entered.
As the camera is added, click it from the list of all devices.
Copy the URL for the incoming events from the IP camera in the corresponding field.
Go to the Advanced settings of the Hikvision camera.
Paste the copied from the Link URL (for the incoming events from the IP camera) into the URL field of camera settings.
Enter the URL of your server in the Destination IP / Host section:
for Link self-host, enter the address of your Link server. It can be a local IP address or a public domain name;
for BAS-IP Link Cloud, use the domain of your regional Cloud server.
Example for Destination IP / Host:
Link self-host:
192.168.1.93
link.example.com
Link Cloud:
Europe: eu.bas-ip.link
United States: usa.bas-ip.link
Asia: as.bas-ip.link
The URL field must contain the event path copied from the Link device settings, for example:
/api/v0/hikvision/392.XtMowisZdHW6wsJSave settings.
Add a license plate identifier as described in the Identifiers section.
As a result, camera and server can interact with license plates.
