With the help of forwarding you can redirect calls from one device to another. Here you can find a detailed description of the forwarding configuration of calls from an entrance panel to various indoor entry phones or mobile device(s):

How forwarding works

Forwarding from an entrance panel to various indoor entry phones or mobile device(s) is useful when the main monitor is off or the user can not answer the call from one device but can do it from the other. It is possible to add up to 8 directions for forwarding to be sure that the call will be received.

Forwarding can be done to all numbers at once or one by one (to the numbers in turn with a 20-second delay). Also, a one-by-one forwarding mode is available.

Preparation before forwarding configuration

1. Set device logical addresses for a monitor and a panel. If you want calls between devices to be made via SIP and Peer-to-Peer protocols (instead of the internal protocol), and thus the configured forwarding to work, you need to set different logical address values for the panel and the monitor.

During a call, the panel refers to its forwarding queue only when it could not find any monitors according to the values of the building, unit, floor, and apartment. So, the easiest way is to set different logical addresses for the panel and the monitor. The images are an example of the panel (the 1st picture) and the monitor (the 2nd picture) configuration.

Here is an example of logical addresses configuration for a monitor and an individual panel. For forwarding functioning, the values set in the Building fields must be different for the monitor and panel.

2. Download the BAS-IP Intercom app onto your mobile device(s). This app is necessary for making/taking SIP calls via your mobile(s).

3. You must register with the SIP server. This service provides SIP numbers required for making calls between various devices via SIP protocol.

 Step-by-step guide

BAS-IP SIP service has 3 global regions (Asia, the USA, and Europe) and includes servers for corresponding countries. For correct SIP calls operation, you must register an account at your country server and provide these data for devices and BAS-IP Intercom settings. To register with the service:

1. Open the SIP server web page. URL depends on your country and check here. For example, United Kingdom residents must register at gb.sip.bas-ip.com. The following interface will be displayed in the browser:

2. To open the registration form, click Sign up

3. Enter your current email, create a password, and confirm it by re-entering.

4. Click Create.

5. Go to your email to confirm a new account.

6. Follow the link from the letter (the system will send it automatically).

Your account will be considered inactive without confirmation.

7. After confirming the account, you can enter it.

8. In a new tab click Sign in and enter your email and password for authorization.

4. Add your device(s) to receive at least 5 virtual numbers.

 Step-by-step guide

1. Log in to the free BAS-IP server corresponding to your country (from Step 3).

2. Open the Add device tab.

3. Open the BAS-IP Intercom app (downloaded in Step 2).

4. Press Scan QR in the Assistant that opened.

5. Scan the QR code from the Add device’s backside or its box.

If a QR code from the device backside or its box can not be scanned or is absent, contact the BAS-IP support team. Send an email to support@bas-ip.com with a photo of the device serial number and mention your account email.

7. After adding the device, you will have the opportunity to create and set up 5 virtual numbers for SIP calls.

5. Create SIP numbers for your devices. Each device must have a unique number. So, if you have 1 panel, 1 monitor, and 1 mobile device, it is enough to create 3 SIP numbers. If you have more devices create additional numbers.

 Step-by-step guide

1. Log in to your account at the corresponding to your country BAS-IP server (created in Step 3).

2. Go to the Virtual numbers tab.

3. Click Add number.

4. The system will automatically generate a SIP number. You must enter its display name and password.

5. Choose the type of DTMF protocol (RFC 2833 or SIP INFO). All BAS-IP devices work with the RFC 2833 protocol.

6. Save information by clicking Create.

6. Enable and configure SIP for the entrance panel.

 Step-by-step guide

To configure the entrance panel remotely (through the web interface), you must connect to it via the Internet browser on your PC. The panel and PC from which you plan to access the device must be connected to the same network segment.

1. Enter the panel IP address in the browser address line. You can check the IP address with software for device search and upgrade

2. Enter the username and the password in the opened window. By default, the username is admin, and the password is 123456

  • SIP server proxy (check the SIP server address you registered with in Step 3);

Before the proxy address, you must enter "sip:", e.g. sip:gb.sip.bas-ip.com

  • SIP server address (realm). You can check the server address you registered with in Step 3;

  • server STUN IP address; (e.g. stun.l.google.com);

  • port of the STUN IP server;

STUN server 19302 port is used for Google.

  • SIP number (up to 20 characters) created in Step 5;

  • password for SIP number (up to 20 characters);

  • transport type: UDP/TCP/TLS.

Note:

UDP is good for speed and efficiency.

TCP is great for reliable IP-packet delivery.

TLS is best for encryption, authentication, data integrity, and secure SIP trunking.

You can enable the auto re-registration to renew the lost connection with the SIP server and enter the re-registration interval (from 5-600 seconds). The feature is recommended to use in networks with an unstable Internet connection. If necessary, you can re-register the device manually by clicking the appropriate button.

5. Save data.

7. Enable and configure SIP for the monitor. Compete this step for each monitor that will be in the forwarding queue. For each monitor, you must use a new SIP number, they can not be repeated.

 Step-by-step guide

You can configure SIP via the web interface. To configure the monitor remotely (through the web interface), you must connect to it via the Internet browser. The device must be connected to the same network as the PC from which you are going to configure it:

1. Enter the monitor IP address in the address line of the browser. You can check the IP address with software for device search and upgrade or at monitor settings (if data was previously indicated).

2. Enter the username and the password in the opened window. By default, the username is admin and the password is 123456.
