What settings must be done on the device for the Link server correct operation?

The management system must be enabled for the device:

  1. Log in to the device web interface. By default, the username is admin, and the password is 123456.

  2. Go to the Network tab > Management system section.

  3. Select the necessary protocol: HTTP or MQTT (is recommended to use) in the Mode field.

MQTT allows organizing the interaction of BAS-IP Link with devices, that are located in different networks/subnets/behind NAT without additional settings from the network infrastructure (port forwarding, etc.) as HTTP requires. We recommend using the MQTT protocol as it is less complex, more effective, provides data security, and fast and efficient message delivery.

  1. Enter all required data.

If you select MQTT, you must complete the following steps:

  • enter management system broker address and port (only if your port forwarding differs from the mentioned Used Ports).

  • create a password for interaction with the management system (Server interaction password).

Also, you can activate sending real-time logs to the server. If necessary, you can enable/disable integrated message encryption or add your certificate by clicking the File field and selecting the appropriate one. Sending of heartbeat (current status: online/offline) is done by default here without the ability to enable/disable it.

If you select HTTP, you must enter the following details:

  • an IP address or domain name of the server where the Link software is installed.

  • device password to the server.

If necessary, you can activate sending real-time logs and heartbeat (current status: online/offline) from the panel to the server.

  1. Submit settings.

  1. Open the Link server as settings from its side are also required.

  2. Go to the Devices tab of the Device management section.

  3. Find the device you interacted with in Steps 1-5. If the device is not on the list, add it by following the instructions on the Devices page.

  4. Ensure the device info (model, serial number) on the Link page matches the information displayed in the device web interface (the Dashboard tab).

  1. Provide the following Network details for server and panel interaction:

  • the communication protocol you selected previously in the device web interface;

  • the device IP address and port (for HTTP only);

  • login and password that are used to enter the device web interface;

  • server interaction password (previously created in the Management system section (Network tab) of the device web interface).

Ensure that the Server interaction password in the Link matches the password provided in the Password field within the Management system section of the device web interface.

11. Click the Save button in the left low corner when all required data will be entered.
